Reverend Calvin Antonio Brooks, Sr.

Rev. Calvin A. Brooks was born in Durham, NC to William and Carrie Brooks. He is the Pastor of Mount Zion United Church of Christ, Henderson, NC. He has served as the President of the Board of Directors of the Eastern North Carolina Association of the United Church of Christ and also served as a member of the Executive Committee of the Board of Directors of the Southern Conference of the United Church of Christ.  Pastor Brooks is a member of the Interdenominational Ministerial Alliance of Durham.

Pastor Brooks received his Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology from North Carolina Central University and his Master of Arts Christian Education with an Emphasis in Pastoral Leadership from Grand Canyon University.  He is employed with the Durham County Sheriff’s Office as a Captain and is a supervisor in the Civil and Transportation Division. He is also a Senior Chaplain for the Sheriff’s Office.

Pastor Brooks is a member of the Beta Theta Lambda Chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha, Incorporated and serves as the Chapter Chaplain.

Pastor Brooks is married to Porcha Carter Brooks. They have two sons, Calvin Jr., and Christopher. Pastor Brooks is a man of God. He truly loves serving the Lord. His motto in life is to trust God, believe in his word and love one another.
